Martial Arts Training
Real-World Applications for Every Martial Art. Unlock What You’re Already Doing.
At Forge & Farrier, martial arts isn’t about titles or accolades—it’s about quietly working on your craft and getting better every day. Over the years, training has spanned a few different styles—Thai boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, karate, kickboxing, aikido, judo, and more. But it's not about mastering everything. It’s about learning what works and using that to grow.
The name "Forge" isn’t just for the work we do with horses—it’s the essence of what we aim to do in martial arts as well. It’s about the forging of mindset and skill, shaping both the body and the spirit to become something stronger. Whether through the hammer and anvil or the dojo, the goal is the same: to refine, to build, and to transform.
For the last 20 years, the privilege has been to teach alongside Professor Rick Clark, founder of Ao Denkou Kai. His knowledge of pressure point fighting (Kyushu Jitsu) has shaped a lot of what’s practiced. But pressure points aren’t the end-all-be-all of self-defense. They’re just one part of a bigger picture—like poison on the tip of an arrow. The main attack is the arrow, and the poison is the addition. It’s the technique that counts first, and the pressure point is there to enhance it when it fits.
Through years of training and testing, including time spent in the French Foreign Legion, it became clear that what works in the real world is different from what works in the dojo. Every Kata Has a Purpose. We Help You Find It. Our seminars reflect that practical side of things, blending traditional martial arts with street-smart applications. The biggest realization is how everything overlaps—karate katas share principles with judo throws and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu submissions. Connecting the Dots Between Tradition and Reality. As the Samurai Miyamoto Musashi once said, “If you know the way broadly, you will see it in everything.”
At Forge & Farrier, it’s about teaching what works from experience and perspective. If something doesn’t resonate with you, that’s fine—you can leave it behind. But if something clicks, you can take it with you on your own journey. Whether you’re into boxing, taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or something else, you’ll find something that fits. Learn the Meaning Behind Every Movement. It’s not about teaching "the way"—it’s about teaching "a way"—an understanding that grows and changes as we all do.
And as Forge & Farrier grows, the dream is to expand the Forge mentality into its own space, a dojo that’s more than just a training ground—a place where we forge mindset and skill, shaping both the individual and the martial artist.

PRIVATE TRAINING - DEEPER WORK
From time to time, I work one-to-one or with very small groups.
This is quiet work — no spectators, no noise, and no posturing.
It’s practical, physical, and rooted in discipline and responsibility.
If the timing and intention are right on both sides, we take the next step.
PROFESSIONAL & SPECIALIST TRAINING
This work is reserved for closed groups with real responsibility —
law enforcement, security teams, and organisations where the stakes are different.
Structured. Controlled. Handled quietly and directly.
