Farriery
Honest Work. Sound Horses. No Shortcuts.
At Forge & Farrier, the work’s always been about doing things right, even when it takes longer. Years went into learning the craft and focusing on what truly matters — the comfort, balance, and long-term soundness of the horse.
Whether it’s trimming, custom shoeing, or addressing a hoof that’s been through more than it should have, the approach stays the same. Simple tools. Steady hands. And the respect every horse deserves.
APPROACH & PHILOSOPHY
Every horse is different. Some are easy keepers. Others carry old injuries, hard miles, or work that pushes them to the edge of what’s comfortable. That’s where the craft really shows.
When it’s needed, the work goes deeper — taking the time to understand what’s happening under the horse, and working alongside vets or trainers to choose the approach that best serves the animal in front of us.
There’s no rush here. Just doing the job properly so the horse can move the way it should.
Current Focus
Right now, the work is centered on a small group of horses and long-term projects. That focus is deliberate. It allows the time, consistency, and attention this level of craft demands.
Because of that, I’m not actively taking on routine shoeing or trimming appointments.
No waiting lists. No overbooking. Just staying honest with the work already on the anvil.
Selective & Specialised Work
From time to time, there’s room for particular cases — the kind that call for travel, deeper problem-solving, or a more involved level of craft.
These aren’t everyday bookings. They’re situations where experience, patience, and attention can genuinely make a difference for the horse.
If your situation truly falls into that category, you’re welcome to reach out.
If it’s something I can genuinely help with, I’ll come back to you directly.
If not, I’ll still do my best to point you in the right direction.
I’m not trying to build a big client list.
I’m not chasing numbers.
The work stays steady and focused — one horse, one project, one story at a time.
Because a solid hoof is still the foundation of a good horse, and that hasn’t changed.
