Legal Disclaimer – Knives & Compliance
At Forge & Farrier, we make knives the right way—by the book and in line with the law. We operate internationally and often change locations, so our approach to knife-making is shaped by a commitment to global legal compliance.
Staying Legal
We do not produce or sell knives that are broadly outlawed or heavily restricted in most jurisdictions. This includes—but is not limited to—butterfly knives (Balisongs), automatic knives over 8.5 cm, push daggers, gravity knives, or disguised weapons such as belt buckle knives.
We may consider crafting restricted models only where explicitly legal, and solely for lawful, permitted use—never for resale or general distribution.
Our fixed-blade knives are built for lawful, practical use—hunting, fishing, outdoor work, craftsmanship, farming, butchery, and similar trades.
International Responsibility
Laws vary from country to country. Buyers are solely responsible for ensuring that possession, purchase, and use of any knife from Forge & Farrier complies with local laws and regulations.
By purchasing, you confirm:
You’re legally allowed to own and import the knife in your jurisdiction.
You understand any legal limitations on carrying, storing, or using the item.
You accept full responsibility for legal compliance and safe handling.
We do our part to stay compliant, but we cannot be held liable for how a buyer uses or carries a knife, or for the legal status of the knife in their region.
Carrying & Use
Some jurisdictions restrict the public carry of certain knives, especially those with fixed blades over a certain length (e.g., 12 cm). Whether or not such rules apply, you are responsible for carrying your knife legally and responsibly.
No Liability for Misuse
Knives are tools, not toys. When you buy from Forge & Farrier, you accept:
Full responsibility for lawful use, storage, and transport.
All risks associated with misuse or mishandling.
That any injury, damage, or legal issue resulting from improper use is your responsibility.
Selling Practices & Buyer Confirmation
We do not currently verify buyer age unless required by law or platform policy. That said, we recommend the following best practices:
You must be 18 or older to purchase knives with blades over 12 cm or that may raise legal concerns.
For restricted or controlled knives, age-verified shipping may be required (e.g., DHL Ident-Check or equivalent).
At checkout, you will be asked to confirm that you are of legal age and in compliance with your local knife laws.
Final Note
Laws can change, and this disclaimer may too. It’s your responsibility to stay informed. For legal questions, consult a lawyer or local authority in your country.
